More than likely you have been told that sugar does not cause diabetes. This is because in most cases, people who eat a lot of sugar do not develop diabetes. Moreover, since most sugar is produced out of necessity, then cutting out sugar entirely would probably make you miserable.
What is sugar?
Sugar is a dietary need, not a craving. You will find it in the foods you eat, naturally, and you will also find it in supplements, naturally extracted and/or synthetically processed.
How does it cause diabetes?
When certain people eat sugar, certain bacteria in the intestines turn enzymes into glucose. This glucose is absorbed into the bloodstream and causes high blood sugar levels. In case you already have high blood sugar levels, eating sugar will make your blood sugar level lower.
Some indicators that you are having an adverse reaction to sugar are:

- Sugar cravings.

When you eat too many carbohydrates, you are most likely going to have too many calories, which will lead to gaining weight. When you want to lose weight, try to limit the number of carbohydrates you consume.

After you have been without carbohydrates for a while, you will probably start to feel weak and tired.

Portion size can be a problem if you’re eating too much meat, but if you follow the rules discussed above, it doesn’t matter. If you are a vegetarian, there are still plenty of sources of protein.
